Hot School Meals
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are currently eligible for Universal Free School Meals.
Our meal provider is The Farm Kitchen, when your child joins our school they will automatically have an account created and you will be provided with the details to order meals.
The Farm Kitchen provides both hot dinner and packed lunch options, you can choose which to order on your account.
When your child moves to Year 3 they are usually no longer entitled to Universal Free School Meals, however you can check eligibility here. When your child moves up their account will still be active and you can choose to pay for The Farm Kitchen to continue to provide meals for them.
Packed Lunches
We would like lunch boxes to reflect a healthy balanced meal. We are happy for treats to be included in moderation.
The NHS has a fantastic resource here with lunchbox ideas and recipes.
The British Nutrition Foundation has recommended the following should be included for a healthy balanced lunch:
- A good portion of starchy food. (wholegrain roll, slice of bread, pitta, plain cracker, pasta or rice)
- Fruit and vegetables. (Apple, satsuma, tomatoes, carrot sticks, raisins or grapes)
- A portion of milk or dairy food. (individual cheese portion, pot of yogurt)
- A small portion of lean meat, fish or alternative. (slices of ham, quorn, cheese, tuna, egg or hummus)
- One small packet of crisps, a fruit scone or portion of malt loaf, a small cake or biscuit may also be included (please avoid sending chocolate bars/packets of sweets daily)
