Induction of Pupils in Reception

The process of induction into Reception can be seen as beginning in the Autumn Term before the children enter the school. This is the point at which parents fill in their online application for their choice of primary school on the Lincolnshire County Council School Admissions website. Most will wish to visit school before completing their forms and we positively encourage such visits.

Once places have been confirmed (usually the beginning of April), we ensure that every child receives a visit in their pre-school setting from the teacher who will be with them in September. This gives the child the opportunity to meet thier teacher, and for the teacher to gain useful information about the child from their pre-school staff.

During the summer term, prior to starting in September, we invite the children into school for a session, during which they can get to know some of the other children who will be joining them in September, and school staff of course!  This also gives them a chance to become familiar with the environment and some simple routines.
